Sr Robert CHENG is a corporate BSD & PFM member of the HKIS. He is a Senior Building Surveyor of Existing Buildings Division 2 of Buildings Department and a Unit Head of a team of building surveyors providing services for owners and occupants of existing buildings in various areas of Sham Shui Po, Shek Kip Mei, Yau Yat Chuen, Cheung Sha Wan and Lai Chi Kok through enforcement of the Buildings Ordinance.

Sr Robert CHENG is experienced in building control and surveying practices. He has been working in the Existing Buildings Division since 2015 and actively involved in the collapse incident at City University of Hong Kong.

On 20 May 2016, the roof structure of a multi-purpose sports hall at the City University of Hong Kong collapsed. The Buildings Department carried out inspection immediately and arranged urgent stabilisation and site clearance works in parallel with an investigation into the incident.

The Final Investigation Report was released on 31 May 2017. Our speaker will share with us in this talk the Final Investigation Report. The recently released “Introductory Guide on Greening in Buildings” will be briefly introduced.
