APC/ATC
 

The Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) of the Land Surveying Division consists of:

  • A minimum period of two years comprising not less than 400 working days approved professional training experience in any two of the eight areas as defined in section 6.1. The professional training experience must be recorded in a Diary and Log Book and be gained within 5 years from the APC commencement date as approved by the Institute.


  • A minimum aggregate of 40 hours Pre-qualification Structure Learning (PQSL) complementary to the professional training or for professional development;


  • A Written Submission to enable the candidates to illustrate his/her practical experience and professional knowledge and skills in land surveying; and


  • A Professional Interview to enable the candidate to testify his/her professional competence.


To enter the APC the candidate must:

  • be a student member of the Institute enrolled in the land Surveying Division throughout the period of APC;


  • possess one of the following academic qualifications:


    1. a degrees or diploma fully recognized by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors;


    2. a degree or diploma which has been accredited and granted full exemption by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS);


    3. passed the RICS Land Surveying Division Final (Written) Examinations.


      • be suitably employed and undergoing structured professional training in an establishment principally engaged in providing land surveying services (See Section 5.1), or engaged in full-time research approved by the Institute.
