Dr. LEE is currently a practising barrister with main practicing areas in personal injuries, industrial summons and construction related claims / adjudication / mediation. Dr. LEE is also a Dispute Resolution Advisor of the Architectural Services Department.

Details	:	1. Excess lead in drinking water; what is that? Leaded solder Vs unleaded solder; 2. Commission of Inquiry - legislation relating to a commission of inquiry; 3. Gist of the findings of the Commission; 4. Problems with the plumbing industry, the main contractor, the plumbing subcontractor and the statutory bodies in the incident; 5. Claims lodged by the main contractor on its domestic plumbing subcontractor: (a) Temporary water supply pipes; (b) Cost of replacement of all copper water pipes; (c) Cost of provision of water filter; (d) Cost of water charges reimbursed by main contractor to tenants. 6. Plumbing subcontractor refuted claim by asserting: (a) Remoteness of main contractor’s claim; (b) Plaintiff to mitigate loss; (c) Political decision and not based on terms of domestic subcontract; and (d) Source of lead in drinking water not related solely to leaded-solder.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
