Speaker	:	Clarence Mak, Exactal Sales Manager Clarence Mak is the Sales Manager Asia for Exactal, the makers of on-screen measuring and estimating software CostX. At Exactal, Clarence provides frontline support for Hong Kong-based clients and plays an important part in developing the product for the Asian market. Clarence received a Bachelor of Building Economics from University of Technology Sydney and since then has amassed almost ten years’ experience in the construction industry, working for companies such as Rider Levett Bucknall. He has a wealth of QS experience, including working with global QS firms to assist them with moving to 5D BIM practices using CostX.

Details	:	The world is rapidly evolving day by day and, thus, so are the standards and practices of quantity surveying (QS) professionals. With new technologies streamlining daily QS tasks (e.g. auto-generation of estimates, tenders, and BOQs) and environmentally-sustainable techniques increasingly being incorporated into construction processes, manual methodologies are fast becoming a thing of the past. How, then, can QS professionals keep up with technological advances in the digital age? The objective of this CPD event is to provide comprehensive insight into these critical questions facing QS professionals in the industry today and what they can do to stay ahead in the game. Learn how to avoid the potential pitfalls QS professionals will often come across when implementing BIM and find out what’s next for quantity surveying as we move into the future. 1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.
