Speaker : Mr Clive Holloway
Mr Clive Holloway is a Senior Director in the Construction Solutions sector of FTI Consulting (Asia) in Hong Kong and is listed in Who’s Who Legal Construction 2019 as a Forensic Programme Delay Expert Analyst. Clive is a very experienced construction professional and has worked over 40 years in the field of planning and programming, in the analysis of delay, and in dealing with time-related issues on projects in dispute. Clive’s assignments have involved him with the analysis of delay and disruption on projects for Contractors, preparing EOT extension of time entitlement claims, and for Clients reviewing, assessing and rebutting EOT delay claims, the preparation of defence and counter-claims, and the provision of advice, re the strengths and weaknesses, the best way forward and the assessment of programme risk. Clive has worked on various projects across many sectors in many international locations and has applied his forensic programme delay analytical skills to projects to identify causes of delay and/or disruption, evaluate the impacts and effects, and establish entitlement. As a Practicing Member of the Academy of Experts, Clive has been appointed as Expert Witness many times, and is fully aware of the role and obligations; and has a full understanding on the need to provide independent opinion to the tribunal, relevant to his expertise, appropriate to the case, and within his brief; Clive has been cross examined and given evidence in Arbitration.

Mr Alex Ho
Mr Alex Ho is also a Senior Director in the Construction Solutions sector of FTI Consulting (Asia) in Hong Kong and is also a Forensic Delay Analyst. Alex has worked for over 19 years in planning and programming and has comprehensive experience in dealing with time‐related issues on construction projects, such as; extensions of time entitlements, delay and disruption, prolongation, etc. Alex is also a Practicing Member of the Academy of Experts and has been appointed as the Programming Expert Witness and given evidence in Arbitration.

The analysis of construction delay seminar will address the following topics with reference to worked examples - extensions of time (EOT), delay and disruption claims, identify relevant events, concurrent delay, record keeping, methods and techniques in the analysis of delay, determination of the extent of delay, identify causal links, resource histograms, progress and productivity S-curves.

The seminar will provide; details of typical head of claim events that are used to support EOT delay claims; and examples of rebuttal replies for which default culpability dilutes EOT delay claims; and will cover time related costs.

The seminar will also offer advice and strategy as to how to avoid being too confrontational and how to resolve the issues amicably by engaging the parties in workshops to discuss and look at ways to settle the dispute pragmatically.

*Many of the presentation slides will have Chinese text as well as English and the main speaker Mr Clive Holloway will be accompanied by his colleague and fellow Programme Delay Expert Mr Alex Ho, who will provide translation of the key points into Cantonese.
