In this CPD, Rachel will discuss legal risks and liabilities of contractors, consultants and their staff outside the four corners of construction contracts.  In an age of increasing transparency and accountability, project participants would need to be aware of the wider legal responsibilities and consequences arising out of their involvement in a project, as highlighted by the COI investigation into the MTRC Hung Hom Station Extension Works Contract and the high-profile ICAC fraud prosecutions in relation to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge project.  Focus will also be given to professional liabilities and criminal liabilities of the individuals involved, as well as practical considerations in dealing with non-compliances and internal audits.
