Helen is a practicing barrister in Hong Kong, specialising in commercial litigation and arbitration. She also serves public appointments, including sitting as a Member of the Board of Review (Inland Revenue Ordinance), and as a Chairperson of the Appeal Tribunal Panel (Buildings).

Helen is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She serves as a Visiting Lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong, teaching “Arbitration Law and Practice” to postgraduate students of the “MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution” programme.

What are interim measures? Why are they useful in arbitrations? How do you make applications for interim measures? In this talk, Helen will provide an overview to these questions, and also briefly discuss ways to make such applications before the arbitral tribunal, and to the Hong Kong High Court. Helen will also touch upon the newly introduced Arrangement Concerning Mutual Assistance in Court-ordered Interim Measures in Aid of Arbitral Proceedings by the Courts of the Mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, which came into force on 1st October 2019.
