Speaker	:	Sr Gilbert Kwok, Partner of Cocking & Co LLP, FHKIS, FRICS Gilbert, Past Chairman of the HKIS (QSD) and Past Chairman of the RICS (Quantity Surveying and Dispute Resolution Practice Group), is a qualified surveyor and a qualified Hong Kong lawyer. He has extensive experience in handling construction disputes and has handled numerous arbitration and litigation cases in the last 30 years since 1991. He is also experienced in drafting and advising on construction contracts, consultancy agreements and supply contracts relating to a wide range of construction projects in a number of countries and cities such as Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Macau, North Korea and Angola.

Details	:	What are the dispute resolution options including alternative dispute resolution approaches in the Greater Bay Area? Why and how are they useful or otherwise to settle disputes? In this talk, Gilbert and his PRC lawyer colleague will walk you through those options and share their experience in sorting out disputes in the Greater Bay Area.
Remarks	:	This CPD is free of charge for members. If registered member fail to attend the CPD on 30 September 2021, the HKIS will send an invoice of HK$150 to those no-show members for settlement. And the no-show members may not be allowed to register the coming free YSG CPD event(s) unless settled the CPD fee of $150. *PQSL hours shall be determined by the APC candidate's respective Division The event will be conducted online via ZOOM. Successful registrants will be notified separately via email with the web link in due course to the online event. Please install the Zoom Application in advance at https://www.zoom.us/download. 1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
