Details :

Sustainable construction is a rapidly-evolving trend in the local construction industry in recent years since the HKSAR Government has pledged a carbon neutrality commitment by 2050. As an industry accounting for 39% of the global carbon emissions, the construction and buildings industry should make relentless efforts to explore and adopt low-carbon solutions in a holistic approach, from materials procurement, design and planning, and construction processes. Different disciplines and expertise of building professionals should work together and embed sustainability thinking into their everyday’s decisions.

The CIC endeavours to facilitate the local industry to be more sustainable and launches different tools and initiatives for the industry to go green. In the webinar, the speaker will cover the recent trend and goals of carbon neutrality for the industry in both global and local contexts and elaborate on how various CIC tools, including the CIC Carbon Assessment Tool (CAT) CIC Sustainable Finance Certification Scheme (SFCS), and CIC Green Product Certification (GPC), etc. can help the industry to embark on a sustainable journey.
