Details :

GPD has submitted a number of recommendations on the Policy Review of the Land (Compulsory Sale for Redevelopment) Ordinance (Cap. 545) to Development Bureau in June 2022. The 2022 Policy Address also announced a series of potential changes to the application threshold, relaxation of application site in abutting lots situation and measures to protect minority owner's interests. A consultation exercise is envisaged shortly.

The recent Lands Tribunal's judgements ("LT judgements") also echoed the facts that the threshold calculation and application site boundary may require in-depth discussion.

The speaker, Sr Alnwick Chan FHKIS, Chairman of GPD would like to update members on the latest LT judgements and share his thoughts on the potential amendment to the Ordinance that would help the industry to expedite the urban renewal process and safeguard minority owners’ interests.
