Details :

The New Engineering Contract (NEC) form has been adopted in the HKSAR Government since 2009, with the 1st NEC pilot being carried out for Fuk Man Road Nullah Improvement in Sai Kung by the Drainage Services Department (DSD).  Since then, the adoption of NEC form has been extended to various works categories in public works.  Under the NEC, the project management office, the contractor and other stakeholders foster a relationship through partnering, mutual trust and co-operation.  On this basis, the parties collaborate closely to foresee and resolve potential problems, thereby promoting early completion and minimizing disputes, and effectively enhancing project cost control.

As one of the works departments actively adopting NEC form, DSD has numerous successful cases in applying the NEC features for effective project management.  In this seminar, the speakers will share with the audiences on the successful application of NEC in two signature drainage projects, naming the “Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage System”, and “Construction of an Additional sewage rising main between Tung Chung and Siu Ho Wan and Associated Works”.
