詳情	:	With the outbreak of Covid-19 and the findings of the chance of the spread of virus through defective above ground drainage system after the specialists’ investigations on the visit of the residence of confirmed cases, the public has expressed great concerns on the health and safety arising from defective drainage system and eager to understand more and looking for the solutions for tackling the problems. Being Building Surveyors, we SHOULD have such knowledge on the design of proper drainage installation for effective functioning as well as compliance with the legislative requirements. We can also advise clients for the proper and timely maintenance so as to upkeep the proper functioning of the system. Without proper design and good maintenance, the hazardous outcome imposed to occupants due to improper disposal of effluents and sewage are of immense health and hygiene issues. The outbreak of SARS in 2003 and the current Covid-19 are both typical and sad examples. Our speaker of this talk has involved in the investigation and implementation of remedial enhancement work of the problematic above ground drainage works of Amoy Garden Block E in 2003. He will “re-visit” the more essential parameters affecting the generic design of above ground drainage system for domestic premises; and attempt to brush out the potential problems which solutions are yet to be made available.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
