詳情 :

Double Ageing, which is the ageing of population and building stock, is increasingly gaining traction in the academic and government policy sphere since JCDISI’s advocacy.

To accelerate strategy development, the debate should now be focused on

  1. how cross-sector, transdisciplinary efforts can help to develop innovative ways to improve our building stock,
  2. how can buildings be designed, managed, operated and maintained to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of our citizens and support our elderly population to age in place and,
  3. identify the key silos to break to create system change.

Using practical examples from JCDISI’s projects, Prof KK Ling will start this seminar by highlighting the challenges and opportunities for change to engage participants in wider discussion of the issues practitioners may encounter in their projects. He will make use of the findings the HKU MSc (UP) Students in their latest Community Planning Studio to illustrate the problems and possibilities in creating system change. Prof Ling will then join a panel discussion with Sr Edmond Yew (Immediate Past Chairman, PDD) and Sr Billy Wong (Chairman, BSD) to discuss the technical/ practical difficulties for Urban Renewal and/or Building Rehabilitation Projects for the ageing building stocks and how Surveyors can contribute to tackle the Double Ageing challenge.
