講師	:	Sr Eric Ting LL.B. (Hons), BSc (Hons), MSc (Distinction), MHKIS, MRICS, RPS(QS), AHKIArb, MHIREA, MCMSG, Adjudicator, HKMAAL Accredited Mediator Sr Eric Ting has solid experience in providing construction claims, contract advice and quantity surveying services in both private and public sections. His professional experience covers various types of projects such as civil engineering works, building works, mechanical and electrical works, maintenance works etc.. He is a trainer and speaker in courses and seminars on quantity surveying and dispute resolution. Sr Eric Ting is an adjudicator on the HKIS Panel of Adjudicators. HKIS has been admitted by the Development Bureau as one of the Adjudicators Nominating Body (ANB) under its Register of ANBs. He is also an accredited mediator in various panels of mediator in Hong Kong. Besides, he works as a quantum expert for cases in arbitration tribunal and the High Court.

詳情	:	The Development Bureau promulgated the Technical Circular (Works) no. 6/2021 on 5 October 2021 regarding the implementation of Security of Payment Provisions (SOP Provisions) in public works contracts. The legislation of Security of Payment is also in progress. It aims to facilitate timely processing of payments and to allow a speedy resolution of payment related disputes in construction projects. SOP calls for a change in the construction contract management and is likely to affect most of the partitioners in the local construction industry. In this sharing, Sr Eric Ting is going to share his view on how to make use of this change to strengthen the construction contract management and how to handle payment disputes under the SOP Provisions.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

1.	I confirm that I fully understand and accept the risk of joining the above visit. Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
