Courtesy Visit to the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers
In early December, I made a business trip to Singapore and took this opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to the Land Surveyors Division of the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers (SISV) at its office on 30 Nov. The purpose of the visit was to develop a bilateral relationship between the two Institutes’ Land Surveying Divisions.

Here is a brief background of the SISV: it has a similar structure to the HKIS, but comprises only three divisions: Land Surveying, Quantity Surveying, and Valuation & General Practice. Its management body is the Central Management Committee (CMC), which is similar to the HKIS’s General Council. CMC Officers include three Presidents and three Vice Presidents of each division’s Council, an Honorary Secretary, and an Honorary Treasurer. One of these becomes CMC Chairman, whose role rotates annually amongst the divisions.
