First, I speak for the new BSD Council to wish all members a happy and prosperous new year filled with joy, peace, and love. The year ahead will be full of challenges and opportunities for building surveyors. Despite the economy’s slow recovery after the relaxation of the pandemic measures and a lack of workers in certain sectors, Hong Kong should benefit from the Northern Metropolis development, new public housing, and the continued maintenance of its large stock of ageing buildings, which require the involvement and contribution of BSs. The BSD Council is prepared to work hand-in-hand with members to face these challenges and pursue further opportunities for the profession...
