Ad Hoc Working Group for Appointment Process of Independent Valuer After obtaining views from practitioners, six GP surveyors agreed to join the working group. Thereafter, some comments were received. The working group would submit recommendations to GPD Council in late June 2010. Various aspects will be covered involving appointment mechanism, conflicts encountered by practitioners and professional fee level. Membership Reciprocity with the China Institute of Real Estate Appraisers (CIREA) The working group is discussing with CIREA on the second membership reciprocal arrangement. It is initially agreed that a two-day training and examination, in Chinese, will be held near Hong Kong, i.e. Shenzhen, Zhuhai or Dongguan. Further details will be announced on the HKIS website. Education Committee The present APC and TPC training and professional experience areas are being reviewed. Some members of the Committee have also joined two working groups formed under the HKIS Board of Education, viz. Working Group for Degree Programmes and Taskforce on Subdegree and Higher Diploma to review and current accreditation system and criteria. Assessment of Professional Competence Workshop A series of APC workshop will be held in July and August. The intention is to assist probationers and students to enhance and update their professional knowledge. Further details of the aforesaid workshop will be announced on the HKIS website.
