Reciprocity Agreement with the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (Geospatial Engineering)
I am pleased to inform you that we signed a reciprocity agreement (RA) with Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) for three years between Land Surveyors and Geospatial Engineers on 3 August 2012.
The Signing Ceremony was held at the SLC in the presence of members from ICES and HKIS. Mr Andrew Keung, Chief Representative for Southeast Asia of ICES, and Sr Serena Lau, our president, signed the RA.
We are excited that the HKIS has entered the RA with ICES in the area of land surveying specialties – Geospatial Engineering Stream – in two years’ time after the signing of the RA between HKIS (Quantity Surveying Division) and ICES (Commercial Management Stream). The RA marks a closer collaboration between the two organizations, and through the RA and other activities, we hope to foster the industry’s development and communications around the globe.
With immediate effect, a LSD corporate member and/or a LSD associate member of the HKIS in good standing who possesses one year’s experience of post-qualification professional practice relevant to ICES (Geospatial Engineering Stream) and is able to pass a professional competence interview on his/her suitability for admission conducted by ICES may be elected as a member or technical member of ICES (Geospatial Engineering Stream).
Likewise, corporate and/or technical members of ICES who have one year of relevant post-qualification professional experience in land surveying in Hong Kong and have passed a professional competence interview on their suitability for admission conducted by the HKIS LSD may also be elected. In order to ensure the quality and competence of members, both HKIS and ICES have established respectively a very stringent professional and technical assessment standard for the election of members. The RA offers an alternative exposure to members of both professional bodies to communicate and exchange with the practitioners in Hong Kong and worldwide.
第八屆 京港澳測繪技術交流會論文征集通告
自 1999 年起，京港澳測繪技術交流會已經舉行了七次。該會議系列促進了北京、香港和澳門三地測繪技術的交流及專業水準的提昇，加強了三地測繪行業專業人士的友誼與合作。將於2013 在香港舉行的第八屆京港澳測繪技術交流會將是這一會議系列的延續。會議組織主辦單位是：香港測量
師學會、香港工程測量師學會及香港理工大學土地測量及地理資訊學系，由北京測繪學會和澳門特別行政區政府地圖繪製暨地籍局協辦。
本屆會議的主題是「測繪新科技與智慧城市建設」。在城市形態數字化的基礎上，新一代資訊技術的發展促進了城市的智慧化的實現。智慧城市以物聯網感知和高速互聯網技術為基礎，依託城市一體化資訊平台，實現智慧應用的協同，促進城市服務和管理。通過城市資訊化，讓人們盡享更加便利的生活，並且與環境和諧相處。我們希望三地的專家和學者將藉此次交流會的機會，共聚一堂，深入交流及探討測繪技術的發展方向及在構建智慧城市上應用，我們誠摯地邀請廣大測繪科技工作者踴躍參加此次交流會。
會議定於 2013年5月23日至24日在香港理工大學蔣震劇院舉行。研討會主要內容是：
