Annual General Meeting 2012

The YSG AGM was successfully held on 23 November 2012. It is my pleasure and honor to be elected as the YSG Chairman for the term of 2012-2013. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the committee of 2011-2012 for their hard work and continued effort on the 70 events, especially our immediate past chairman, Mr Kenny Chan, for his leadership and dedication. In the coming term, I am delighted to have some of the experienced committee members who will continue to serve the YSG and welcome new blood to join us. Year Plan

In the AGM, I briefly introduce my goals and the year plan for the coming term. They are the 4Cs included Continuity, Coherence, Comments and Communication.

• Continuity: To develop a strong YSG team included experienced committee and continue to recruit new blood to serve the huge number of young members.
• Coherence: YSG is a big family for student members, probationers and young qualified members from various divisions. Through the numerous CPDs, social events, gatherings and charity functions, we aim to form coherence among our committee members and develop a sense of belonging among members.
• Comments & Communication: Having representatives in different boards, sub-committees and working groups of the HKIS and different divisions, we hope that voices and suggestions of our members could put forward to the HKIS, Divisions and also our functional  constitutency of the legislative council.

 

Events Highlight

PolyU BRESS Annual Dinner 2012

As one of the event sponsors, YSG representatives included Kenny Chan, Simon Wong and me joined the BRESS Annual Dinner held on 29th November 2012 organized by the 19th session Building and Real Estate Student’s Society of the HKPU. This was a remarkable night that there are 2 outstanding alumni shared their valuable working experience to over 70 students. We, on behalf of the YSG together some mentors and alumni also have an enjoyable night to share our experience with the students and help them to understand more about our profession and the industry.

 

Surveyors League 2012

One of the largest YSG social event - the surveyors league kicked off with the first match on 8 December 2012. RLB beat Sweett in 38:25 whereas Langdon Seah beat 灌藍style in 35: 33. The second match also held on 15 December 2012. The Avengers beat BD team in 44:20 whereas Rock beat Class’13 in 54:46. Please stay tuned for the exciting championship match which will be held on 20 January 2013. The coming matches are scheduled as follows:-

Education & Careers Expo 2013

Hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Education and Careers Expo 2013 will be held on 31 January to 3 February at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. HKIS will have a booth there to give information on the route to memberships and career prospects of different divisions. Please come and visit us!

You are also welcomed to attend our monthly regular meeting when will be held on the second Monday each month. The next meeting will be on 14 January 2013 at 7pm at the HKIS.
