AP Easy
You may be aware of the “AP Easy” pilot scheme run by the Home Affairs Department, which I reported on in the February issue of Surveyors Times. Twenty-five professional building surveyors have been recruited as volunteers for this scheme. They will pair up with volunteers from the PFMD to advise owners’ corporations (OCs) on the proper process in selecting the appropriate consultants for making repair works to their buildings. The first briefing session was held on the evening of April 10 for these volunteers prior to the commencement of the scheme. This pilot scheme will last for one year and will be reviewed afterwards.

Proposed Award for Building Surveying Projects
The BSD Council has decided to commend building surveying projects that stand out, so an Organising Committee convened by Sr Conny WANG began meeting on April 9. There will be different categories of the award and further details will be posted later. The award presentation ceremony is tentatively scheduled for mid-2015. If you have any idea for this award, please write to me.
The BS Conference
One of the most important events that the BS Council organises each year is the BS Conference. This year’s BS Conference will be held on October 11 at the same venue as last year – the Kowloon East Crown Hotel. Please stay tuned for the formal announcement of the registration.
While the finalised theme of the Conference will be further considered by the Council, a tentative theme, “Essential and Evolving Expertise of Building Surveyors,” has been proposed by the OC, which is convened by Sr Cheuky CHEUK.
Members who want to join the OC or have any comment on the proposed theme can write to me.
Distinguished Building Surveyors
Please be reminded that the deadline for nominating surveyors to be included on the list of Distinguished Building Surveyors will be on May 31. Details of the nomination can be reviewed at the following link:

而為表揚一些建築測量項目，我們將就不同類別的項目開設獎項，並已於 4 月 9 日成立了統籌委員會，暫定有關的頒發典禮將於 2015 年中舉行。另外，我們一年一度的盛事 — BS Conference — 將於今年 10 月 11 日舉行，籌委會正就會議的主題作出討論。我們歡迎大家就以上兩個項目提供意見。
