The exam season is now upon us and we all know how stressful that can be. Because of that, YSG started the “Big Brother and Big Sister Scheme” last year to help probationers pass the APC. We will review the scheme at the end of this year, so if you have any comment on or suggestion for it, please contact us at [email protected]. 30th Anniversary Basketball Cup
RLB and 籃人 30 won their games to set up a final showdown at the HKIS 30th Anniversary Basketball Cup.
Both squads faced challenges during their semi-final matches, with ES-Guys and Basketeer also both putting up strong cases to advance. The final is scheduled for 14 September 2014 at the Wai Tsuen Sports Centre, Tsuen Wan, starting at 7 PM, followed by a prize presentation ceremony at 9 PM. Please come to support your friends and enjoy the match.

CPD
Painting – the systems, applications, and defects
We have invited representatives of Akzo Nobel Swire Paints Limited (ICI Dulux) to be our speakers at the upcoming CPD on 22 September 2014. This event will focus on the different painting systems and their applications with some real case studies. The latent/future defects and their remedial solutions will also be addressed.
Implementing the ISO 50001 Energy Management System at Hong Kong’s tallest building
The joint CPD by the PFMD and YSG is now scheduled for 6 October 2014. We have invited Mr Thomas Ma, Senior Auditor of the Operation Branch and Manager of the Assessment Conformity Unit at the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, and Mr Howard Yeung, Senior Technical Services Manager of Kai Shing Management Services Limited, as our guest speakers.
Mr Ma will introduce to you the key aspects of ISO 50001, including energy reviews and baseline and performance indicators, while Mr Yeung will introduce the technical knowledge required to achieve energy savings and optimisation at the International Commerce Centre, the tallest building in Hong Kong.
