Message from YSG Chairman (December2014)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Our YSG Annual General Meeting was held on 25 November 2014. Thanks to those members who joined us and shared their views during the meeting. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Sr Kason Cheung, the Immediate Past Chairman, for his leadership and the Office Bearers and Members of the 2014 YSG Committee for their immense efforts and valuable time spent on the YSG events held this year.

As I mentioned during the AGM, it is our aim to promote professionalism among YSG members, to reflect their views, and to serve as a link between the Institute and Probationers and Students. We already held a pre-meeting on 20 December 2014 to discuss the ways to achieve these aims. Interesting and informative events will follow in 2015.

Events Highlight

I attended a course in Beijing with our Honorary Treasurer, Sr Chris Mook, from 2-7 December 2014, which was organised by the China National School of Administration (國家行政學院). There were 26 professionals in our class, including architects, planners, and surveyors from the different divisions. During the excursion, we were able to visit different heritage and redevelopment projects in Beijing, as well as attend lectures that covered topics related to the legal system, the Basic Law, national security, Chinese traditional culture, Mainland real estate markets, and media communications.
