Details :

Digital Aerial Photo (DAP) have been used to in the production of Digital Orthophoto DOP5000 Series (DOP5000) in Hong Kong since 2010. To improve the efficiency of DOP5000 production, Photogrammetric and Aerial Survey Section (PASS) from Survey and Mapping Office of Lands Department acquired a set of Very High Resolution (VHR) satellite images to explore the possibility of replacing DAP with satellite images in DOP5000 production. A new approach with the application of VHR satellite images is suggested.

This talk will illustrate how this new approach is adopted for DOP5000 production. In additions, limitations and advantages of the new approach compared with the current approach will be introduced. Recommendations for the future development of DOP5000 production will also be indicated.
