Speaker	:	Dr ZHU Rui, Felix Senior Scientist, Systems Science Department Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) Agency for Science, Technology and Research (ASTAR), Singapore Dr Zhu Rui is a Senior Scientist at the Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (ASTAR), Singapore. Dr Zhu was a Research Assistant Professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Postdoctoral Associate at MIT Senseable City Laboratory. He has published more than 60 SCI papers related to solar energy. Dr Zhu has served as a PI and Co-I for several research projects and he is the Board of Director member in the International Association of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Sciences. Details	:	Promoting renewable energy sources to reduce dependency on conventional fossil fuels is an effective way to achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals on carbon neutrality. In this context, solar farming has been experiencing explosive development in recent years. Compared with the utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plants located at remote and bare lands with stable meteorological conditions, effectively harvesting solar energy in urban areas is challenging, such as intermittency, spatiotemporal heterogeneity, and energy storage complexity. In this talk, I will present the concept of a sustainable solar city with the development of six interactive modules to effectively penetrate solar energy into various urban systems. The concept will be implemented through estimating land surface solar irradiation, constructing 3D urban surfaces, modelling spatiotemporal solar potential distribution, planning solar PV systems, designing solar PV charging solutions, and revealing the socio-economic and environmental impacts of solar energy.
Remarks	:	The event will be conducted online via ZOOM. 1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
