Supplement to the Code of MeasuringPractice and the Formation of Standing Committee A new Supplement to the Code of Measuring Practice in regard to the stairhood measurement was issued on 2 March 2010. With the lapse of time, further clarification on the Code of Measuring Practice may be required. HKIS Executive Committee has formed a Standing Committee to handle all matters in relation to the Code. The Committee, to be chaired by our Immediate Past Chairman, Dr. Lawrence Poon, comprises representatives from related divisions. Mr C K Lau and Mr Leo Choy are nominated as GPD representatives. Membership Reciprocity with theChina Institute of Real Estate Appraisers (CIREA) The Working Group (W/G) has set out a plan for the second examination and made contact with CIREA. Hopefully, there will be a meeting with CIREA in the near future to resolve outstanding issues. The W/G will inform interested parties of the arrangement in due course. Consultation on the Property Valuation Requirements under the Listing Rules The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited and the Securities and Futures Commission plan to consult the public on proposed changes on the property valuation requirements for public listing purposes. Meanwhile, they invite GPD to discuss with them on the proposed changes. A panel is set up to handle this matter. GPD & PDD Joint Fellowship Dinner- 2010 For enhancing cohesion and communication, GPD Council and PDD Council jointly organized a fellowship dinner. The event was held on March 18 at World Trade Centre Club, 38/F, World Trade Centre, Causeway Bay. About 50 members participated.
