Japan Association of Real Estate Appraisers

I was invited by Mr Yamashita Masayuki, Chairman of the International Relations Committee of the Japan Association of Real Estate Appraisers (JAREA), to visit its headquarters.

On 13 March 2015, before I attended a property valuation seminar at International House to give my presentation, I met Mr Takeshi Ichikawa, member of the International Relations Committee, and Ms Ishiyama Shizuku, Sub Manager Business Section of JAREA, in JAREA’s office in Tokyo. During the meeting, I introduced the HKIS’s divisional structure and the scope of services that GP surveyors provide in Hong Kong. I also explained how a qualified GP surveyor could become a Registered Professional Surveyor under the Surveyors Registration Ordinance in Hong Kong. At the end of the meeting, we agreed that both institutes could further exchange information to let their members know more about their counterparts.
