講師	:	Sr Leung Shou Chun, MBE, FHKIS, FRICS, ALS & RPS(LS) Sr Leung has been working in the land surveying industry for 64 years out of which 54 years in a professional capacity. He joined Government in 1956 as a technician and retired in 1996 as the Principal Government Land Surveyor (now re-titled as the Deputy Director / Mapping and Surveying). Since then, he established his own Land Surveying Consultant Firm and started his private practice for the last 24 years. He has been the President of the former Hong Kong Institute of Land Surveyors (subsequently amalgamated with the HKIS), the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, the President of the Hong Kong Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology, an Adjunct Professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Chairman of the Alliance of Authorized Land Surveyors. Before his retirement from Government, he has been one of the primary forces to introduce the Land Surveying Ordinance (Cap. 473) and to promote the Land Surveying & Geo-Informatic BSc Course of the HK Polytechnic University. During the private practitioning part of his career, he devoted most of his effort on land boundary surveys and has personally handled hundreds of boundary dispute cases including tens of times to act as an expert witness in the Court. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Land Boundary Committee of HKIS.

詳情	:	For many years, Sr Leung has been a regular writer on land surveying and, particularly, land boundary matters in local newspapers. He has also published tens of articles in various international and local professional journals. Collections of his articles have been complied into books, namely “地界迷津” (published in 2018) and “丈量世界” (published in 2019). After the two books were published, several questions about the contents of boundary survey system and the application of general survey concepts were reached to the speaker. This CPD event shall serve as a sharing session by questions from the participants and the corresponding answer from the speaker. Participants are welcome to bring their questions on site about land surveying subjects not necessarily limited to articles in the book “地界迷津” and “丈量世界”. Sr Leung shall then give his response to the raised questions. Participants who are interested to join may also send your questions to our Divisional CPD Convener, Dr. HD Zhang ([email protected]). He will organize and raise some frequently ask questions to the speaker during the talk.

1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

1.	I confirm that I fully understand and accept the risk of joining the above visit. Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
