詳情	:	The Buildings Ordinance and its subsidiary regulations provide for building safety requirements, offences and penalties. Statutory orders will be issued against the owners of the premises by the Building Authority (BA). The aggrieved persons may lodge appeal against the orders in Appeal Tribunal (Building). Prosecution of offenders is an integral part of BA’s enforcement responsibility. The seminar will focus on the control of existing buildings and the appeal mechanism in Hong Kong. Seminar contents:- 1. The objective of Buildings Ordinance 2. The statutory definition of Buildings Works and Exempted Building Works 3. Minor Works Control System 4. What are the unauthorised building works 5. Reasonable Excuse and Legitimate Expectation 6. Reporting Scheme 7. Noteworthy cases: - BD V Trueland Driving Range Ltd. (DCMP 2594/2018) - Profit Success Development Ltd case (2 HKC 506 (2013)) - Airy Estates Ltd v BA (AT 862-2011 & 46-2013) - BA v AT(B) and ENM Holdings Ltd (FACV 15/2017) - 803 Funds Ltd v BD (HCAL 2215/2020)
備註	:	The event will be conducted online via ZOOM. Successful registrants will be notified separately via email with the web link in due course to the online event. On-line registration is not applicable for non-HKIS members. To register, please complete the CPD registration form (https://www.hkis.org.hk/en/pdf/Standard_Reservation_Form2020.pdf) and return with payment to the HKIS Secretariat. 1.	The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
2.	A registration number will be generated for each application. The registration number is unique and non-transferrable. Members cannot proceed to payment if they do not apply the CPD event and obtain the registration number through the HKIS website.
3.	Payment can be made by cheque or by Credit Card (Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. / American Express). Cheques should be made payable to “SURVEYORS SERVICES LTD.”. A separate cheque or Credit Card payment instruction form is required for each event/ application. You should write down the registration number and HKIS membership number at the back of your cheque. The HKIS Secretariat will update the payment status and your application will be confirm when HKIS Secretariat receive your payment.
4.	Payment by PayPal is also acceptable. Please register in our web site before the closing date for each event. Please be reminded that if you cannot settle the payment within 7 days from the date the HKIS Secretariat accepted your registration, your registration number will be invalid and your application will be rejected. Your name will not be included in the registration list and you cannot attend the concerned CPD event. (Not applicable for site visit / social event / joint event with other organisation)
5.	An official receipt which must be presented at the event, will be available for downloading from the "CPD Profile" under Members Corners when payment is received.
6.	Incomplete or wrongly completed registration will not be processed.
7.	In the event a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning is hoisted, the event will be postponed and a new arrangement will be announced. Should the aforesaid warnings be lowered 4 hours before the event, the event will proceed as normal.
8.	If you have not received any reply from HKIS Secretariat within 7 days of the event, you may call the Secretariat at 2526 3679 to check the progress of your registration.
9.	The HKIS reserves the right of final decision and interpretation in the case of any disputes.

1.	I confirm that I fully understand and accept the risk of joining the above visit. Under no circumstances shall The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors ("HKIS"), their staff or agents be held liable for the consequence of any accidents whether or not they are caused by the negligence of the HKIS, their staff and/or agents.
2.	Members participating in the above visit shall be in good health condition.
3.	While the HKIS has arranged Group Personal Accident insurance for members joining the above visit, members who have been accepted for joining the above visit can consider procuring an appropriate insurance policy to cover their own risks before attending the event.
4.	Claims related to COVID-19 and/or pandemics are excluded under the insurance policy procured by the HKIS.
